What assumptions do you make if the gender is entered as non-binary?

If the gender is entered as non-binary, we assume that the mortality event is based on the life expectancy of a female. All other calculations, for annuities for example, are calculated based on the date of birth of the individual.

In joint life cases, where a joint life annuity is selected, the dates of birth of each individual are used for the calculation. Where a joint life annuity is selected on a single life case, the partner is assumed to be male and 3 years older for the annuity calculation.
