I’m looking at the Plan Potential Journey – Cashflow and Assets chart and can see that in some of the years the weak outcome is showing some extremely high returns. I expected to only see low returns if I selected the weak outcome. Can you explain?

The Weak outcome does not mean that there were poor market conditions and low returns for the life of the plan.

It means that at the end of the term of the plan the client’s remaining assets value was low i.e. the 50th lowest out of the 1000 scenarios.

However, you could still see years where there has been extremely high growth and vice versa.

The potential journey charts are there to show you a possible journey however they should never be looked at in isolation but in conjunction with the range of outcomes charts.
